EXPERIENCE THE WARRIORS MOVEMENT
"Reminding humanity to be human, one act of service at a time."

ABOUT
Our Roots
The Warriors Movement (TWM) is a veteran owned, DC based 501-(c)(3) Non-Profit. We strive to inspire humanity to change their views of the less fortunate by providing experiences to the public to work for, with and along side displaced people, especially veterans, who struggle with drug addiction, chronic homelessness and other challenges that have kept them from sustainability. TWM works to bridge the gap between "being homeless" and "getting help" by staying well connected with organizations and programs in the DC Metropolitan area that provide job training, temporary housing and drug rehabilitation for the men, women and teens in need.
BRIDGING THE GAP
One Step at a Time
D.C has the highest homeless rate of 32 U.S cities. A 2016 study found there over 8,000 homeless residents in the general population of DC. The city also had one of the fastest increases in homelessness between 2009 and 2016, with a 34.1 percent gain. With the increasing need for affordable housing and higher wages in the city also comes an increase of people who can no longer keep up with the skyrocketing cost of living, often leaving many in this situation homeless or displaced. That's where we come in. The Warriors Movement acts as a bridge to connect people struggling with homelessness to programs and organizations in the city that can help get them back to sustainability. While connecting people in need with the proper help, we also get the community involved with outreach opportunities to give back as well. From coat/ clothing drives to pop up restaurants, The Warriors Movement strives to connect people from all backgrounds to help one another and be a constant reminder of what humanity looks like.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY
Helping The Community
At The Warriors Movement, we are dedicated to stepping up our efforts in addressing different needs the homeless community faces daily. Coordinating monthly food and clothing drives by no means is an easy feat, but through cooperation and community empowerment we believe we can facilitate change in an amazing way. We are always striving to make a difference, and invite you to learn more and lend your support.

Collaborative & Innovative
OUR PROJECTS

COVER DC : COAT AND BLANKET DRIVE
Tackling the Issue
As of last January, 8,350 people experienced homelessness. Many of which are often exposed to harsh weather elements. With your help, we are able to help people stay warm in some of the coldest weather in the Nation. We are invested in a "village" approach that encourages our community to deliver the support to those in need, when they need it. We are currently accepting coats, gloves, hats, scarves, hand warmers, socks, and monetary donations for our upcoming distribution date of January 20th. We will be meeting at Franklin Square Park in DC @ 10am. All are welcome to bring any or all of the listed items or contact us to arrange pick up.

EVERYBODY EATZ CAFE: A POP-UP RESTAURANT FOR THE HOMELESS
Making a Difference
Every year around Christmas time we turn the common area of Central Union Mission, a rehabilitation program for homeless men on the road to sustainability, into a fully functioning Restaurant. Volunteers sign up as host/hostess and waitstaff , extreme make over decorators and more to make a authentic experience for our guests. We we have some of the best chef's in our area come to prepare a full menu of items for the over 200 men in the program to choose from. The experience is wonderful for both the men and the volunteers and we can't wait until the next one!

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
Getting Involved
Through our Community Development, we have the potential to make a real and positive change in the community. Without the faithfulness of our community volunteers and amazing donors from all over the country, it would not be possible to do what we do. This is one of our key areas of focus here at The Warriors Movement, and a source of much success for our Nonprofit Organization. Get in touch with us today and see how you can lend a helping hand through partnership and volunteer efforts.
